Day in life documentary sessions allow me to create artful storytelling for families to pass down their family archives.
I first captured Carly and Josh as a couple, and once the kids were born, I began documenting them with family sessions. This session is our first day-in-life session, which is a full day in their life. I love day-in-life sessions because it allows me to document a family in their real element. There is no direction, just them and their daily activities as a family; I show up the evening before building a connection before taking any photos.
Even if I know the family, it allows me to catch all the sweet morning rituals when they wake up. The morning moments are so much fun to document, breakfast, and family time together. Josh is a photographer, so they loved the idea of an unscripted day of family photos. (he is generally documenting himself) The idea is to do a session each year, so you have an annual album collection for the family to enjoy for many years. Enjoy!
